Ntuthuko Matthews Mazibuko

Ntuthuko Matthews Mazibuko is the Founder and Principal of FrontierCore Advisory, a specialist consulting firm focused on people, operations, and workforce strategy in frontier and emerging markets across Africa.
With more than 20 years of international experience across Human Resources, business operations, project management, and education, he has led complex workforce mandates in high‑risk environments including Sudan, South Sudan, Angola, and South Africa, as well as worked across retail, education, and digital sectors.
During his tenure with Schlumberger, Ntuthuko spearheaded the startup of operations in South Sudan, overseeing company registration, workforce design, and government and community engagement. He led HR operations for more than 500 employees across multiple geographies, managing recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management, crisis response, and leadership development in volatile contexts.
Beyond Oil & Gas, his experience includes serving as Head of People for a South African education organization, senior retail leadership for a national brand, and ownership of a multi‑million rand restaurant franchise at the V&A Waterfront—demonstrating end‑to‑end responsibility for strategy, P&L, operations, and frontline workforce performance.
Earlier roles in international schools in South Africa, Angola, Kuwait, and the United States have given him a distinctive cross‑cultural perspective and a strong foundation in learning, leadership development, and human‑centered practice.
Through FrontierCore Advisory, Ntuthuko partners with oil and gas operators, mining companies, NGOs, development agencies, and investors entering or operating in complex African markets. His advisory work spans market entry and setup, workforce strategy, compensation and benefits, localization and succession planning, expatriate workforce management, crisis and exit planning, and leadership and culture alignment.
Ntuthuko holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and English Literature from The College of New Jersey (USA), and is currently completing a Master of Business Leadership at the University of South Africa. He also holds an IB PYP certification, a New Jersey Elementary Supervisory Certificate, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
